Sixth Meeting of the Collaborative Framework on Project Facilitation and Support
As countries accelerate efforts to deliver on their renewable energy and climate commitments, turning national targets into bankable, investment-ready projects has become a critical priority. While global renewable deployment is advancing at record speed, uneven geographic distribution and persistent project development barriers continue to slow progress in many regions, particularly in emerging markets and developing economies.
IRENA’s Project Facilitation and Support (PFS) works closely with Member States to help address these challenges by strengthening project readiness, improving bankability, and enabling access to finance. Through targeted engagement with governments, developers, and financiers, PFS supports countries in addressing regulatory, technical, and financial bottlenecks that limit the pace and scale of renewable energy deployment.
This support is delivered through IRENA’s technical advisory, tailored capacity building programs and flagship platforms, including the Climate Investment Platform (CIP), which focuses on early-stage project development, and the Energy Transition Accelerator Financing Platform (ETAF), which helps advanced projects move toward financial close. These efforts are complemented by regional Investment Forums that convene policymakers, investors, and project developers to foster connection, matchmaking, and practical solutions aligned with national priorities.
The Sixth Meeting of the Collaborative Framework on Project Facilitation and Support provides government focal points with a focused opportunity to engage on project bankability, share country-level insights, and explore how targeted technical assistance and project development support can accelerate renewable energy project implementation. The discussion will draw on real project case studies and data-driven insights to support Member States in advancing a resilient, inclusive, and investment-ready energy transition.
This meeting is by invitation only.
