Sustainable development powered by renewables: Cabo Verde

This brief highlights opportunities for renewable energy innovation to reduce electricity losses and improve resilience in Cabo Verde. The study forms part of a series of evaluations of the application of innovative solutions to drive sustainable growth powered by renewables in selected IRENA Member countries.

Innovations drawn from IRENA’s Innovation landscape for sustainable development powered by renewables can be combined and tailored to real-world contexts for maximum impact, reducing outages, improving system flexibility, supporting productive uses and accelerating renewable integration.

These country-level studies aim to investigate the distinct challenges and opportunities available in each country to combine these innovations across infrastructure upgrades, digitalisation, improved planning and enabling regulatory frameworks to unlock greater energy system reliability.
